Our Story

Double Comfort, at its roots, was started to fight hunger and continues that mission to this day. After years of volunteering at food pantries and soup kitchens across the country, one thing became apparent to our founder Mary Lyski: these organizations needed more money to drive a larger impact in their communities.

We all know the benefits of having a good meal but it’s different when you see it quantified. A school Mary volunteered at had a 65% drop in tardiness, absenteeism, and behavior problems when they offered a free breakfast meal. Can you believe the impact a single meal can make?

Mary got to work and opened Double Comfort Restaurant in Columbus to create a revenue stream for food pantries by donating all profits to different hunger-relief charities. As the restaurant grew in popularity, a buzz began to grow about the sauces and spices that they used. Seeing the need, Mary pivoted to a retail sales model to sell their popular spice blend (used on their famous fried chicken) and wonderful hot sauces. All the while continuing the mission to support folks who need an extra hand to stay afloat.

10 years later and we’re still here, selling sauce and fighting hunger. To date, we have donated the equivalent to 238,000 meals to our neighbors in need. Every time you buy a bottle of our delicious hot sauce, you are helping put food on someone’s plate. #BuyaBottleChangetheWorld

Over 238,000 meals donated to hunger relief and we’re on a mission to hit a million.
